The Clinical Observation of Treating 54 Cases Suffered from Primary Dysmenorrhea with Tong Jing TangAim: Observing the clinical effect of Tong Jing Tang ( Decoction for treating Dysmenorrhea ) for treating primary dysmenorrhei. Methods: 34 cases patients suffered from primary dysmenorrhea were treated by means of tong jing tang. These patient were caused by the syndrome of stagnancy of Qi and blood stasis or the syndrome due to accumulation of cold and dampness according to the differentiation in TCM. Its therapeutic effects were compared with the controlled group of the 20 same patients treated with Capsule of Wu Ling Zhi Tong (Capsule for Relieving Dysmenorrhea). The Results: clinical results showed that the cases of the excelled effects were more than that of the controlled group, p<0.05. There were significant difference in the comparison between the 2groups. There was no significant difference in total effective cases between the total symptomatic scores of the 2 group, before and after teatment , was not significant, p<0. 05. The comparison of fully relieving cases with pain in the lower abdomen of the 2 groups was significant, p<0. 05. The effect of the tested group was better than that of the controlled group. Conclusion: Tong Jing Tang is a good prescription used for treating primary dysmenorrhea.
