Clinical Analysis Of 150 Foreign Bodies In The Trachea And Bronchi

Objective: To elevate diagnosis and treatment level through understanding and summarizing specialty of disease from clinical analysis of 150 foreign bodies in the trachea and bronchi. Methods: 150 cases of foreign bodies from Jan.2001 to Dec.2003 have been reviewed, We explore and analyze their ages, foreign body specialty, clinical manifestation, anesthesia, operative pattern and complication. Results: Among 150 cases,23 cases were removed through direct laryngoscope, 120 cases through bronchoscope, 2 cases through fiberoptic bronchoscope. There has difficulty in removing the foreign body from the bronchus in 4 cases ,so they diverted into open operation. 131 cases were operated without anesthesia, 19 cases in anesthesia. Conclusions: It is very important to diagnose and deal with in time, chose proper anesthesia and operative pattern, especially the technical ability of operator to improve success rate and reduce the complication and mortality. It has better effect to take out the foreign body through bronchoscope without anesthesia.
