Effects Of Tianma Granules (TMG) On Apoptosis Of Human Colorectal Cell Line SW-480 In Vitro

Objective: This paper was to study the effects of Tianma granules on apoptosis of human colorectal cancer cells.Methods: We observed the effect of different consistence of Tianma granules on SW-480 cells, knowing that the best consistence inhibiting the grow of tumor cells was 0.01g/ml. After drawing the curved line of inhibition in this consistence in different time, we divided cells into 4groups randomly: the negative contrast group, Tinama granules group, 5 -FU group and the combined group. Flow Cytometry Assay was used to test the cell cycle. Scanning electronic microscopy was used to observe the apoptotic cells.Results: Tianma granules could inhibit the proliferation of SW-480 cells. The inhibition was related to dosage. Tianma granules in 0.01g/ml could induce apoptotic of cells in all phases . The dead cells presented the apoptotic feature in morphological observation.Conclusions: Tianma granules may inhibit the proliferation of SW-480 cells from inducing cell apoptosis. The effect of killing is not of cycle distinction.
