The Study Of TCM Integrated Scheme In Treating Acute Period Of Stroke

Backgroud and purpose: This study is the part of the multi-central cooperational task of National Tenth-Five-Year Tackling Key Project, I was fortunated to follow my tutor Cao Xiaolan and other mordern famous specialists in this field, and carried out the prospective randomized clinical study by TCM Integrated Scheme (TCMIS) and Western Medicine routine scheme (WMS) to test their curative effects. Methods:55 patients in acute period of stroke were divided into 2 groups randomizedly,TCMIS treating group and WMS control group.The results were assessed mainly by several indexes including National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS),Ability of Daily Life (ADL), Quality of Life Index (QLI) and Mini-Mental State Evaluation (MMSE) .Besides that I try to probe into the changes of syndromes based on the achievement of standardization and quantification of the syndromes of the cerebrovascular disease.Results:There are significant differences between treating group and control group in lessening NIHSS,enhancing ADL and improving TCM syndromes (P<0.01). And the patients in treating group have higher QLI and lower incidence of Vascular Dementiation (VD) compared with control group (P<0.05).The treating group can regulate the blood pressure, GLU, TC,WBC (P<0.05). Meanwhile there are no differences between two group (P>.05).At the same time it shows no obvious influences for the treating group on safety quotas such as blood,urine,feces routine examination and functions of liver and kedney.But the control group have influence on ALT. Conclusion: The TCMIS have the satisfied effects on acute period of stroke and can be mainly embodied in lessening the injury extent of neuro-function,preventing the occurrence of VD,enhancing the ability and quantity of life.lt is determined by keeping the aim of treatment based on syndrome differentiation and regulating the therapy, improving the TCM syndromes meantime to bring the superiorities of TCM into full play and save the stroke patients to the most extent in the acute period.
