Objective: To study the relationship between intragastric bile reflux and the symptoms of digestive canal. To explore the role of intragastric bile reflux in causation of mucosal injury. Methods: We observe the changes of intragastric bile reflux during 24 hours assessed by using ambulatory bilirubin monitoring techniques in 76 persons. 1. Nonsymptom group. (22 cases) Without any symptoms(eg. gastrectasia, stomachache, nausea, heartbum etc). And gastrocope check shows that there is no erosion, bleeding or ulcer in them. 2. Symptoms group. (44 cases) They all have some symptoms (eg gastrectasia, stomachache, nausea, heartbum etc). 3. Partial gastrectomy group. (10 cases)All of them had undergone partial gastrectomy for more than one year. Besides, according to the degreements of mucosal injury, we partition the Symptom group into three groups:Non-mucosal injury group(11 cases), Low- mucosal injury group(16 cases),and Ulcer group(17 cases).Analysis index:The time-percents of abs 0.14(include total-time, rise-time and lie-time).Bile reflux area(include total-time,up-time and down-time). Average value of abs.The times of bile reflux. The times of long bile reflux (which reflux-time>5 minutes). And the maximum time of bile reflux.Result :Symptom group is significantly greater than Nonsymptom group in the time-percents of abs 0.14, the bile reflux area, average value of abs, the times of bile reflux and the times of long bile reflux(P<0.05). Partial gastrectomy group is significantly greater than Nonsymptom group in the time-percents of abs O. 14, the bile reflux area, average value of abs, the timesof bile reflux, the times of long bile reflux and the maximum time of bile reflux(P<0.05).Amongs Non-mucosal injury group,Low-mucosal injury group and Ulcer group(17 cases),the indexs of the duodenal-gastric bile reflux have no significantly difference. In every group, the indexs of intragastric bile reflux during the lie-time are significantly greater than that during the rise-time.Conclusions:Intragastric bile reflux may be one of causations which causes digestive symptoms, there is no obvious relationship between intragastric bile reflux and the drgreements of mucosal injury. Partial gastrectomy would cause significantly intragastric bile reflux. The degreement of intragastric bile reflux in lie-time is significantly greater than that in rise-time.
