Objective: To observe the effect of KangChuan capsule on Eosinophils apoptosis of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF ) in asthma model rats.Methods: Forty Wistar male rats were distributed randomly into four groups: normal control group, model group, GuiLongKeChuanNin treated (GLT) group and KangChuan capsule treated(KCT) group, normal control group was given orally normal saline instead of sensibiligen to induce allergy and asthma, other three groups were sensitized with ovalbumin injected into abdomen, from the 2nd day after ovalbumin sensitized, normal control group and model group was given with normal saline, GLT group was given GuiLongKeChuanNin, KCT group was given with KangChuan capsule, all rats were given orally once daily for two weeks, two weeks later, ovalbumin was inhaled to induce asthma once daily for ten days. In the twenty-fourth day, all rats were killed and BALF were collected for counting Eosinophils apoptosis with flow cytometry by Annexin V/PI, then the right lungs were cut to make slides to observe inflammatory changes with microscrop.Results: Compared to model group, the number of Eosinophils apoptosis of the BALF in the rats of KCT group and GLT group increased significantly(P < 0.01), the pathologic changes of the right lung of them were better, and these changes in KCT group is more significant to them in GLT group(P < 0.01).Conclusion: KCT group can induce Eosinophils apoptosis and reduce the number of Eosinophils of lung tissme in asthma model rats, therefore it can alleviate the sensitive inflammatory changes of bronchia and lung in the asthma model rats.
