The Preliminary Study On Biocompatibility Of Artificial Fascia

OBJECTIVE:To analyse the biocompatibility of artificial fascia preliminarily.METHOD: l)eighteen rabbits were implanted with artificial fascia ,autograft and isograft, the local histological reaction was observed in different time.2 ) Six rabbits were injected with the extract of artificial fascia ,the temperature was observed in different time.3)Six guinea pigs were injected with the extract of artificial fascia and then they were divided into two groups .One group were injected with the extract of artificial fascia again 14 days later and another group were injected again 21 days later .We observed the reaction of the guinea pigs and the result was compared to the control group.4)The extract of artificial fascia was dropped in the eyes of rabbits ,the reaction was observed in different time.RESULT: l)There was no different about the local histological reactionamong the three groups after 15 weeks.2) The temperature of the rabbits didn't become higher than before. 3) The guinea pigs had no allergic reaction after they were injected with the extract of artificial fascia .4)The extract of artificial fascia was no irritant to eyes.CONCLUSION:The artificial fascia is biocompatible and suitable as graft material.
