| ObjectiveTo establish a stable, trustworthy and practical rat model of the renalallograft.Methods40 pairs of SD male rats were used as donors and recipients. The donor'sleft kidney was removed together with the whole ureter and part of thebladder, and replaced the recipient's left one after in situ persusion. Directvascular anastomosis and the connection of the ureter and part of thebladder were performed in the operation. Meanwhile, the recipient's twokidneys were cut. ResultsAmong the 40 recipients, 32 survived the operation and 8 deceased. Theaverage operation duration is 120 minutes. Pathological studies showednormal structures and no stenosis in the transplanted kidneys afteroperation.ConclusionsA stable and trustworthy rat model of the renal allograft was establishedin this way. Consequently, it will provide more favorable and convenientpreconditions for the future research on the kidney tranplantation.
