The Progress Of Study On Tourette Syndrome

Tourette syndrome (TS) is a kind of neuropsychiatry disorder in the beginning of child whose symptoms are multiple motor tics with vocal tics. The disease incidence in moment people is 0.07 percent and the disease incidence is increasing gradually. Many medicines have partly curative effect but they have large by-effect, so it is important for medical workers to explore new therapeutic method. Now acupuncture is favorably received because .it is easy to be operated and shows on side effect. In the article, we summed up the pathogenic factors, pathogenesis, neuropathology, clinical characteristics, and treatments of TS in modern and traditional Chinese medicine, as well we discussed and prospected the unsettled questions.According to the characteristics of TS and our teacher's experience, we put forward a new train of thought about treating TS in acupuncture, that is the method of Xi Feng Tong Luo used to regulate the channel of qi, and showed notably curative effect. Now we cannot make an objective appraisal of its curative effect because of the small sample. It will be studied further from now on.
