Clinical Study Of Zhuangshensanxiao Tablet Intervening In IGT Special Field:Internal Medicine Of Combining TCM With WM Student:Yang Dian-rong,Directed By Professor Hou Yu-shu

Objective: To study the effect of Zhuangshensanxiao Tablet on impaired glucose tolerance (IGT), and to explore the way of Chinese traditional medicine to prevent and cure diabetes. Methods: 60 cases of IGT were random divided into two groups. The intervening group were treated by taking Zhuangshensanxiao Tablet 6 tablets three times daily for 6 months, while the other group had not any treatment. Test the rate of IGT turned into NGT and the blood glucose, blood lipid, C-pep-tide, blood pressure, and BMI of the two groups before and after the treatment. Results: The sick rate of diabetes in intervening group was obviously lower than that of control group. In intervening group there were 60%IGT patient' s blood glucose had turned into normal, while the sick rate of diabetes in control group had reached at 36% and 36%had no changes. Compared with the two groups, difference was significant. Conclusion: The pathology of IGT was coincide with the efficacy of Zhuangshensanxiao Tablet. We can see from the results of the experiment: Zhuangshensanxiao Tablet can reduce insulin resistance, release hyperinsulinnemia, improve the glycometabolism and fat metabolism. It also can turn 60% IGT patients into NGT.
