There is a markedly clinical curative effect on Primary dysmenorrhea with the treatment of moxibustion at Sanyinjiao points. To probe the mechanism of the treatment, oxytocin was given to induce rabbits' uterine-spasm.30 rabbits were divided randomly into four groups:Blank group (group A);injection of oxytocin group without moxibustion(group B); moxibustion at sanyinjiao points group(group C); moxibustion at zusanli points group(gfoup D); moxibustion at nonpoints group of 1 cm lateral to zusanli points(group E).The results showed that:1.venous injection of oxytocin could convulse the myometrium, which showed increases in contractile amplitude and frequency, after moxibustion at sanyinjiao points, contractile amplitude and frequency decreased significantly and come back to normal levels without injection of oxytocin. All those showed that moxibustion at sanyinjiao points can relax the convulsion of myometrium. This manifests there is a notable anti-spastic effect with the treatment of moxibustion at sanyinjiao points.2.Moxibustion at zusanli points and moxibustion at nonpoints of 1 cm lateral to zusanli points had no effect on the contractile amplitude and frequency, compared with group c, and there was a significant difference. The result showed that moxibustion at sanyinjiao points has a relative particularity.3. After moxibustion, the level of Ca2+ in blood serum of group C is higher than group B,D,E, and had no difference with group A, while the level of K2+ in blood serum of group C is lower than group B, D, E, and had no difference with group A. This result cued that the mechanism of anti-spastic effect with the treatment of moxibustion at sanyinjiao points is Adjustment the equilibration of Ca+-K+.4.The contents of NO in blood serum and ET in plasma of all groups had no significant difference.
