Cost-Effectiveness Analysis of the TOtal Flavones of HippophaeAnamnoidcs L.(TFH) and Enalapril in Essential HypertensionPostgraduatc: Xiaoyang LiaoTutors: ZhengZhong MaoJialiang WangObjcctive ms stUdy is to identify clinical effectiveness of the TOtalFlavones of HbooPhae Anamnoides L.(TFH) in antihyPertensivetreatInent and compare cost-effectiveness of TFH to enalaPril. Methods There were l9l2 fellow having been annual physicalexamination in Chengdu Science and Technology University. Ainongthem, 78 eligible hyPertensives were randomized into tWo groupsaccording to digital random table. Both experimental drug (TFH ) andACEI enaPril was tested and compared in clinical effectiveness andcost-effectiveness ratio in the end of six weeks. Results After six weeks, the total effective rate and descendingextent of TFH was 74.29% and 2.4 I 2.4/l .6 t l .3Kpa while enaIapriIwas respectively 78.78% and 2.7 I 2. l /2.0 I l. l Kpa without statisticaldifference. The incidence of side effect in TFH was ll.43%, whichwas significantly lower than that of enalaPril 30.3%. The total cost ofTFH was 4599 meB which cost effectiveness ratio was l77 RMB per2patient. In enalapril group, the total cost was 5696RMB with cost effectiveness ratio 215RMB.Conclusion TFH is an effective and safety antihypertensive drug compared to enalapril. And that, TFH is much more economical than enalapril. All of these indicate TFH is a drug coincided with pharmaceuticoeconomic principal.
