Flavonoids from fruit(BFH) of Hippophae rham noides Linn. variety from Russia was selected as experimental material and the content of BFH was selected as the reference index in this study. The best extraction process for BFH was studied through ultrasonic method with the assistant of glass beads. The BFH was prepared by the adsorption and separation process using macroporous resin. Meanwhile the functions of antihyperglycemic, defat and antioxidation were investigated in order to provide a reference for further in-depth development and utilization of BFH. The results were shown as follows:(1)The BFH could be effectively extracted by the method of ultrasonic assisted glass beads. Moreover this method was superior to simple ultrasonic extraction.(2)Using the extraction method of ultrasonic assisted glass beads to extract BFH, the best extraction process for BFH was determined by single factor and response surface optimization parameter method. The best process is that:the ultrasonic time is 23.75min, the ultrasonic temperature is 55.97℃, the ultrasonic power is 189.54W, the ratio of balls to material is 2.23:1. The extraction rate of BFH was 13.57mg/g under the above condition.(3)The total BFH, after seperation and preparetion process of macroporous resin X-5, was secondary purified and obtained three phases (BFHⅠ,BFHⅡand BFHⅢ). The antihyperglycemic function of BFH on diabetic ICR Mice induced by Alloxan (ALX) was investigated. The results showed that the BFH could alleviate diabetes-induced weight reduction and regulate the water intake and the diet of the mice. The content of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) was reduced and the contents of insulin and glycogen were obviously increased. Therefore the BFH achieved good ability of antihyperglycemic.(4)The defat function of BFH on diabetic ICR Mice induced by Alloxan (ALX) was investigated. The results showed that the BFH could reduce the contents of Triglyceride (TG), Total Cholesterol (TC) and Low Density Lipoprotein-Cholesterol (LDL-C) and increase the content of High Density Lipoprotein-Cholesterol (HDL-C). The BFH could effectively reduce the blood-lipid.(5)The antioxidation function of BFH on diabetic ICR Mice induced by Alloxan (ALX) was investigated. The results showed that the BFH could improve the activities of Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) and Glutathione Peroxidase (GSH-PX). The activity of Malondialdehyde (MDA) was significantly reduced. Therefore the BFH achieved good ability of antioxidation.
