Aims: To probe the expression of heat shock protein70(HSP70) , nm23-Hl, p53 and the relation between them in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Methods: Immunohistochemical study for HSP70 and nm23-Hl, p53 was performed on buffered formalin fixed, paraffin embedded sections of 40 esophageal squamous cell carcinoma specimens and 10 normal tissues. Results: The positive rate of HSP70 and nm23-Hl, p53 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma was 62.5% and 55%, 67.5%. There was no significant correlation between the expression of HSP70, nm23-Hl, p53 and clinicopathologic findings, such as age, sex, location, and tumor size. The expression of HSP70 and p53 was positively correlated to lymph node metastasis, but the nm23-Hl was negatively to lymph node metastasis (p<0.05). In addition, the expression of HSP70 was positively correlated to depth of invasion and the p53 was correlated to histopathologic classsification. Conclusion: The expression of HSP70 and nm23-Hl, p53 was of important role in judging lymph node metastasis and may be helpful to predict the prognosis of patients with esophageal carcinoma.Undergraduate Wang LiangZhi Directed by Shen Dan, Shen YunZhi...
