[METHODS] Using the mouse monoclonal antibody PTEN and Ki67, 66 Specimens from surgically resected esophageal squamous cell carcinomas and 10 normal esophageal epithelium (all the tissue were formalin fixed and paraffin-embeded ) were detected by the technique of the irnmunohistochemical S-P. [RESULTS] -.PTEN1. The PTEN product protein was localized dominantly in the cytoplasm in esophageal tissue. Some expression was detected in the nucleus in esophageal squamous cell carcinomas .2. There was no significant relationship of the expression of PTEN product protein between the esophageal squamous cell carcinomas and normal esophageal epithelium (P>0.05) .3. The expression of PTEN product protein was negatively related to the depth of invasion and was positively related to the classification of pathology in the esophageal squamous cell carcinomas(P<0.05).4.The expression of PTEN product protein was not related significantly to the TNM Stage , the lymph node metastasis, the age and the sex in the esophageal squamous cell carcinomas (P>0.05) .5.The expression of PTEN product protein was not associated with the survivalin the esophageal squamous cell carcinomas (P>0.05) .~. Ki67l.The Ki67 was not expressed in normal esophageal epithelium and waslocalized in the nucleus in esophageal squamous cell carcinomas(89.4%) . 2.There was a significantly difference of the expression of Ki67 between the esophageal squamous cell carcinomas and normal esophageal epithelium(PO.01) .3.The expression of Ki67 was not related to the depth of invasions the classification of pathology -. the TNM Stage> the lymph node metastasis -, the age and the sex in the esophageal squamous cell carcinomas (P>0.05) . 4.The expression of Ki67 was not associated with the survival in the esophagealsquamous cell carcinomas (P>0.05) .JEi. There was no significant relationship of the expression between the PTENproduct protein and Ki67 in esophageal squamous cell carcinomas (P>0.05) .[CONCLUSIONS] The expression of PTEN product protein was decresed with theincrease of the depth of invasion and the degradation of the pathology, indicatingits inactivation in the process of esophageal squamous cell carcinomas. The highexpression of Ki67 in esophageal squamous cell carcinomas and its loss ofexpression in normal esophageal epithelium indicated its role in the formationand development of esophageal squamous cell carcinomas. So both of themcould probably provide some useful ways on early diagnosis, therapy andprognostic analysis for esophageal squamous cell carcinomas. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | esophageal carcinoma, PTEN, Ki67, immunohistochemistry | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
