ABSTRACT Acanthopanax Senticosus (Ruper. et Maxim) Harms belongs to Acanthopanax thpanax and mainly distributes in Northeast and North of China with large amount. As a typical drug of securing root and strengthrnning sinew and bone in the TCM, it has been extens- ively used for a long time. While in the mordern clinical practice, it is applied for the treatments of neurosis-. hypoadrenocorticism leu- kopenia of cancer patients caused by radiotherapy and chemotherapy~ rheumatio arthritis-. cor pulmonak~. agrina pectoris hyperlipemia cerebral thrombosis hypotension and diabetes ete. After the sutdies on the physiological activity and chemical com- position, it is showed that the efficient constituents of Acanthopanax sentieosus Harms are some glycosides of which syringaresinol diglu- coside and syringin are the main ones. Used si ?gel cc and ODS cc, the author has been gained sixth monomer chemical composition (CS 1 CS ?6) in leafes stems of Ciwujia medical material. Through 1-I ?NMRN ~ ?NMR DEPT, we are known some date of spectrum and those chemical structure: syringaresinol diglucoside CS ?1, syringin CS ?2, amygdalin CS ? 3, syringie acid CS ?4, isofraxidin CS ?5, L ?ciresinol CS ?6. To develop a RP ?HPLC method for the separation and determination of chemical composition cousisted of syringaresinol diglucoside and syringin in Ciwujia, and Ciwujia?s roots and Ciwujia?s stems ob- tained from different area in Heilongjiang and Aatu in Jilin are deter- mined. The improved analytical method for Ciwujia is foud to be sentitive, simple and rapid, suitable for application in assaying stud- ies and routine determination of mumerous samples.
