OBSERVATION ON POLYTENE CHROMOSOMES OF THE OVARIAN NURSE CELL OF ANOPHELES MINIMUS FROM YUNNANABSTRACT[Objective] To observe polytene chromosomes of the ovarian nurse cell of Anopheles minimus from Yunnan ,compare its pattern map with Guangxi Anopheles monimus? and to provide basis for Anopheles minimus complex classification in China by finding characteristic and discriminative bands.[Methods] Anopheles minimus collected from Ganzhuang Farm, Yuanjiang County, Yunnan province, bred with standard methods in Lab. Mature female mosquito underwent eclosion for 3 days, were mated for fecundation and fed by cavy blood for 28-32 hours. Anatomized Anopheles minimus whose ovarians grew to Christophers III . Separate and dye the ovarians. Photographed under microscope and compare with Guangxi Anopheles minimus.[Results]: 365 samples of the ovarian nurse cell of Anopheles minimus from Yunnan were observed. The chromosomes consist of one telocentric X chromosome, two submetacentric autosomes 2 and two metacentric autosomes 3.The X is the shortest and the 2R is the longest chromosome. After comparisons between the two kinds of polytene chromosomes at corresponding area, 35 differences were found at the parts of arms in banding sequences, especially in 1A~ 7A~. 29AN 37D~. 16A. 21C. 24k. 24B~ 30K. 31 Band32A.[Conclusion] The obvious and distinct differences in 1k. 7A~ 29k. 37D~.16k, 21C~ 24K. 24B~ 30k. 31B and 32A of ovarian nurse cell's polytene chromosomes can be used to differentiate Guangxi and Yunnan's Anopheles minimus. Reconfirm that they belong to two difference sibling species.
