Aimed to eliminating phlegm and dispersing blood stasis, Xiao-tan-san-jie Recipe has shown the satisfactory result. Based on previous clinical and experimental research, we study its anti-invasion and anti-metastasis mechanism in angiogenesis of gastric carcinoma. Methods:1. The expression of VEGF was analyzed by immunohistochemical technique in transplantable celiac tumor model of MKN-45 human gastric carcinoma in nude mice.2. An angiogenesis model of chicken choriollantoic membrane was used to evaluate the effect of Xiao-tan-san-jie Recipe.3. HuVEC was utilized to assess the effect of Xiao-tan-san-jieRecipe on proliferation of VEC induced by tumor cells.Result:1. Xiao-tan-san-jie Recipe can strongly inhibit the expression of VEGF in tumor tissue (p<0.01)2. The angiogenesis in chicken chorioallantonic membrane was restrained in Xiao-tan-san-jie Recipe group. (p<0.01)3. The proliferation of HuVEC was little affected, but the obvious inhibitory appeared in the group induced by MKN-45.4.The recipe also can curb the form of vascular endotheliacytetubule. Conclusion:The mechanism of Xiao-tan-san-jie Recipe affecting tumor cell's growth and metastasis may exist in inhibiting tumor cell producing VEGF, restraining the growth of new vascular in tumor issue, and blocking blood supply.
