In this thesis, 12 different Catalpa bungei C.A.Mey clones which selected by Nanjing Forestry University were selected as main research materials. The twelve cutting seedling's growth and physiology index were investigated. Based on factor analysis and cluster analysis, two superior Catalpa bungei C.A.Mey clones with fast growth and best ecological adaptation were suggested. The main results were as follows:1. Annual growth rhythm shaped "S"curve which showed "slow-fast-slow", and Logistic equation could best describe the annual growth rhythm in both seedling height and base diameter for one-year-old cutting seedling of Catalpa bungei clones. Based on the one-year-old growth cycle, annual growth were divided into three decades,which were initial-stage, fast-growing time and end-stage. And there was significant difference in seedling height,ground diameter,biomass and leaf morphological trait among Catalpa bungei C.A.Mey clones.2. The twelve cutting seedlings showed fast growing which has a close bearing with high net photosynthetic. There were significant difference in net photosynthetic among different clones. The highest net photosynthetic occurred in Suqiu 110 ,getting 12.58μmol·m-2·s-1.3. Through correlation analysis, net photosynthetic,stomatal conductance and nitrate reductase activity were the three main physiological index which affected the twelve clones' growth performance.4. Through comprehensive evaluation in one-year seedling, Suqiu110 and Suqiu111 showed better than others which were selected as superior clones because of their fine characters.
