Objrctive: Oxidative stress is a common state in animal production, thereby seriously affecting the body's health and the performance of animal production. In this experiment the animals under oxidative stress was fed with composite antioxidant to study the influence of free radicals on the function of the body under stress state. To investigate the relationship among composite antioxidant, oxidative stress and free radical metabolism. And fianlly try to enhance the ability of anti-oxidative stress and animal functions play through nutritional regulation technology. Methods: Experiment 1: Thirty-five healthy male KM mices were randomly divided into 7 group with 5 mouse in each group. Quiet control group and swimming control group was fed basal diet and the remaining five groups were fed the experient diet- basic diet fortified with vitamin C, vitamin E, polyphenols, microbial antioxidants and composite antioxidant individually. during the experient, the growth of mice in each group was observed. Exhaustive swimming time were determined at the end of the experiment in each group(except quiet control group). The the contents of serum MDA and activities of serum SOD, liver CAT, NOS was determined.Experiment 2: 9 litters of 23-day-old piglets were randomly divided into three groups with 3 litters each. The control group was fed basal diet, test 1 fed basic diet- with micro-organisms derived antioxidants, the test 2 group fed basic diet added composite antioxidants. Trial period is 21 days, piglets weaned at 30 days old. During the test growth and feed consumption of each group were observed and recorded to calculate weight gain and feed conversion ratio. At the 1st, 8th, 15th day of Trial period, three piglets in each litter were selected to take blood from precava vein, the content of serum MDA, NO and activities of SOD, GSH-Px was analysed. Results:Experiment 1: Compared with quiet control group, exhaustive swimming can noticeable decrease the contents of serum MDA by 22.86%, increase the activities of serum SOD by 94.98%, increase liver CAT, NOS activities by 12.74%,27.90%. Fed with composite antioxidants, mice can significantly extent exhaustive swimming time by 199.26% (P<0.05); crease the activities of serum SOD by 20.44% significantly (P<0.05) and remarkably decrease the contents of serum MDA by 37.66% (P<0.05) after exhaustive swimming. Similarly crease the activities of liver CAT by 46.43 significantly (P<0.05) and liver NOS by 28.86% (P<0.05) after exhaustive swimming.Experiment 2: Compared with 7d prior to weaning, serum MDA levels in piglets at 1d and 7d post-weaning were increased by 24.67 and 16.51% (P<0.05); Serum SOD, GSH-Px activity and NO content at 1d post-weaning were increased by 2.87%, 25.96% and 32.19% compared with 7d pre-weaning; Serum SOD, GSH-Px activity and NO content at 7d post-weaning were increased by 6.05%, 15.86% and 11.75% compared with 1d post- weaning, lower 3.35% and higher 25.96% than 7d pre-weaning. Compared with the control group, added the complex anti-oxidants in feed, serum MDA in 1d post-weaning piglets can decreased by 6.77%, SOD, GSH-Px, NO were increased by 11.61%, 25.10%, 19.55%; 7d later serum MDA content decreased 7.32%, SOD, GSH-Px, NO were increased by 11.76, 25.10%, 19.55%, and is the significant difference (P<0.05). And composite antioxidant has the trend to improved piglet daily gain and feed conversion. Conclusion: The oxidative stress can cause animal body to produce a large number of free radicals, lipid peroxidation was increased, the body was injury, the ability of anti-fatigue and anti-oxidation were decreased. There are several active ingredients in composite antioxidant that can eliminate free radicals, improve the body's anti-fatigue, anti-oxidation ability, and also the various ingredients can achieve better synergies, so it`s better than other single antioxidants. Add composite antioxidants to the exercise stress mice and weaned piglets, can significantly increase the exhaustive time in swimming mice, reduced lipid peroxidation in mice and pigs, also can improve the capacity of antioxidant enzyme in mice and piglets. Experiments have showed that composite antioxidants can improve the ability of animals to against oxidative stress and promote animal functions.
