Investigation On The Species Of Coccaidea From Shaanxi Garden (Hemiptera: Coccoidea)

Scale Insect is one of the important pests in garden plants. Not only sucking plant juices and damage plant tissue, but also usually making contamination of leaves and fruits of plants when large amount of those broke out, resulting in abnormal plant withered and died by affecting the photosynthesis. Based on the large number of previous studies, the different specimens of scale insect were widely collected in parks, scenic spots, forests, campuses and many places in Shaanxi. With the mounted specimen, microscopic observation and identification has been done, finally the latest identification key of species and Shaanxi garden scale insect list was drawn up.The main contents include:(1) Introduction of the Scale Insect's harm to garden plants, the recent domestic research profiles of garden Scale Insect and the research materials and methods. The Scale Insect collection methods and the permanent mounted-slide making was introduced. The shell morphology and female adults' main characters and morphology terminology was presented.(2) Systematic account of the 5 families,43 genera,83 species of garden Scale Insect in Shaanxi. The main features of the Scale Insect were described, with some of the important morphological characteristics chart and ecological photo of known species.(3) Drawn up of an identification key of species and Shaanxi garden scale insect list,3 new ganera and 21 new species of Scale Insect in Shaanxi was described.(4) Further discussion about encountered problems during the investigation..
