Ornamental Value Investigation For Peony Species In Xibaipo Garden And Florescence Control Adjustment Technique Research

Paeonia Suffruticosa is a species of peony, Paeonia, Paeoniaceae, famous andtraditional, native to China, always named as the “king of flowers”. Paeonia Suffruticosahas great ornamental value,with a very short and intensive florescence. This researchconducted the survey on Peony varieties, and fulfilled the peony esthetics evaluationsystem.Part of peony species were taken for esthetics evaluation, as well, we explored themethod of extending the florescence.1. Through investigation we found that the species in Xibaipo Garden comprised ofInland Paeonia Suffruticosa group and Northwest Paeonia Suffruticosa group, of morethan30thousand, above100species,10classes and3categories; We recorded the plantheight, style, growing situation, flower type, flower diameter and flowerscence of partlyearly and late flowering species;By evaluation of peony species, we found that the best andworst species are just a small amount in the garden; we determined the varieties foropen-field test.2. After investigation and analysis, we selected part of flower species to conduct theexperiment, results as follows:(1) Fertilizing one species with10000mg/L B9in different stages can extend the totalflowerscence1-4days, and evidently reduce the flower diameter, which has the best effectin windbell stage to extend flowerscence4days; Fertilizing different species with10000mg/L B9in small-windbell stage can extend the total flowerscence or delay initialflowerscence, and makes its full-bloom stage along to early March; Fertilizing with lowdensity B9daily in squaring stage can evidently delay the initial flowerscence3-4days,inhibit leaf and branch growing, which has the best effect with100or150mg/L B9.(2) Salicylic Acid can evidently extend flowerscence, of500mg/L to3days and1000mg/L to4days. Besides, Salicylic Acid can inhibit branch growing, limit leaf andflower diameter, darken leaf and flower color.(3) Fertilizing Calcium can extend total flowerscence1-3days(Ck7days, Ca19daysand Ca410days),with high Calcium some plant flower delayed and total flowerscenceextended. However, high Calcium lowered floral initial rate(Ck89.6%,Ca190.7%,Ca293%,Ca397.7%and Ca494.3%).In aggregate,160mg/L Calcium has the best effect.(4) Fertilizing PP333can evidently extend flowerscence4-6days, and has indistinctive effect on total flowerscence.75mg/L has the best effect on extending flowerscence,delaying the early flowerscence4days and the end of the flowerscence5days.(5) B9:PP333mixed by3:2or2:3for one species can evidently delay flowerscence, ofwhich by3:2has the best effect on delaying flowerscence4days, and delaying totalflowerscence2days, has indistinctive effect on flower diameter.B9:PP333mixed by2:3for different species can extend flowerscence1day, which hasdistinctive effect on single flower life and flower diameter.
