The differences and correlations of yield, agronomic traits and rice quality traits among the rice varieties were analyzed in regional experiments in Zhejiang province during 2004-2008. Meanwhile, rice traits stability among the comparison varieties was also tested. Results showed that: in the Regional Experiment on Early Indica Rice, the yield, agronomic traits and rice quality traits were significantly different among different varieties and the yield was of significant difference in different years. In the Regional Experiment on Single Cropping Hybrid Indica Rice, the yield, agronomic traits (except for seed-setting rate) and rice quality traits were significantly different among different varieties but were of insignificant differences in different years. In the Regional Experiments on both Continuous Cropping Hybrid Indica Rice and Continuous Cropping Japonica Rice, the yield difference was insignificant in different varieties and years, and the agronomic traits and rice quality traits were stable in different years. In the Regional Experiments on Single Cropping Japonica Rice and Single Cropping Japonica Rice, the yield was significantly different in different varieties and years, while the agronomic traits and rice quality traits were of insignificant difference in different years. Correlations were positive between yield and numbers of effective panicle, grains per panicle, seed-setting rate, 1000-grain weight, but negative between yield and seed-setting rate in the Regional Experiment on Single Cropping Japonica Rice. Significant correlations were found between yield and numbers of effective panicle, grains panicle, 1000-grain weight in the Regional Experiment on Early Indica Rice. And in the Regional Experiment on Single Cropping Hybrid Indica Rice, yield and 1000-grain weight, grains panicles were positively correlated. However, in the Regional Experiment on Continuous Cropping Hybrid Indica Rice, positive correlations were found between yield and numbers of effective panicle as well as seed-setting rate. Significant correlations were also found between yield and numbers of effective panicle, grains panicle, seed-setting rate in the Regional Experiment on Single Cropping Japomca Rice. And the yield was positively correlated with grains panicle in the Regional Experiment on Continuous Cropping Japonica Rice. But no significant correlations were found between yield and numbers of effective panicle, grains panicle, seed-setting rate, 1000-grain weight in the Regional Experiment on Single Cropping Japonica Rice. In the correlation analysis of physical and chemical rice quality, significantly negative correlations were found between amylose content and ratio of grain length to width, but significantly positive correlations between amylose content and chalky grain rate, chalkiness, transparency in the Regional Experiments on Early Indica Rice and Single Cropping Hybrid Indica Rice. Significantly positive correlations were also found between gel consistency and the grain length as well as ratio of grain length to width, but significantly negative correlations between gel consistency and the chalky grain rate, chalky and transparency, in the Regional Experiment on Continuous Cropping Hybrid Indica Rice. significantly positive correlation were found between amylose content and ratio of grain length to width, chalky grain rate and chalkiness, in the Regional Experiments on Continuous Cropping Japonica Rice and Single Cropping Japonica Rice. And significantly positive correlations were found between gel consistency and the grain length , ratio of grain length to width, but significantly negative correlations between gel consistency and the chalky, in the Regional Experiment on Single Cropping Japonica Rice. In the stability analysis of the comparison varieties, the yield was significantly different in various years and places in the 7 region experiments. But the grain length was of insignificant difference in all region experiments, and also ratio of grain length to width except the jiayu-293 in different years.
