The locust tree (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) is a Papilionaceae Robinia plants, originated in North America.Introduction and cultivation of Robinia pseudoacacia in our country is about 100 years. Black locust forests are the main forests for timber, firewood, soil and water conservation, the mole and the stream bank protection in the provinces of the middle and lower reaches Yellow River, the Huai He Valley, the Haihe river basin and the Yangtze River downstream, Black locust also plays an important role in ecological environment construction and in providing timber wood, nectar source, green fodder, etc. However, with the large population of Robinia pseudoacacia clones, many defects of vegetative propagation are gradually exposed. Therefore, the study of genetic resources of Robinia pseudoacacia, how to preserve their genes on the productive potential of Robinia will be very important. We have formed the conclusion after researching for 20 year as follows : we has preserved locust tree pedigree resources 136, genotype resources 190, has preserved the locust tree breeding material effectively which is the most complete locust tree gene bank in our country; The four types of the locust tree genetic resources were divided by the use: the type of fast-growing timber wood, the type of fungus material , the type of feed and the ornamental type. Selecting 5 fast-growing clones from the collection genetic resources, and 15 fungus material clone, 3 feed clones, 4 watching clones have been recommended. There were significant difference in the mass-accretion quantity, the biomass, drought resistance, the resistance to overhead flooding injury, the leaf blade thick protein content among the locust tree genetic resources. It will have the important instruction function for the next collection locust tree genetic resources. The long leaf locust tree is the blade thick protein content highest clone at present. The average thick protein content is 23.85%, more than the common locust tree .The resistance to overhead flooding injury of the fine clones X4, X5, X7 and X9 which were introduced from Hungary was better than domestic fine clone .this laied the foundation of selection of the resistance to overhead flooding injury of the clones.
