This paper researched two different types of Lespedeza hedysaroides—yellow-green type and dark-green type. The botanical characters, performance, nutritive value, photosynthetic characteristics, scanning electron microscope(SEM) identification and inter-simple sequence repeats(ISSR) molecular marker of two different types of L. hedysaroides were analyzed to evaluate their productive force and nutrion value. The results were as follows:1. There were obvious differences in yellow-green type and dark-green type of leaf color.The yellow-green type and dark-green type of 1000-grain weight was respectively 2.028g and 2.264g, and the total length of pedicel was respectively 0.72cm and 1.575cm. There were obvious differences in 1000-grain weight (P<0.05) and total length of pedicel (P<0.01).2. In blooming stage, yellow-green type and dark-green type of the stem-leaf ratio was respectively 1:1.47 and 1:1.35, the fresh-dry ratio was respectively 2.48 and 2.71,which two different types of L. hedysaroides of the fresh-dry ratio had statistically very significant(P<0.01).The yield of dark-green type (5940.5kg/hm2) was higher than yellow-green type(5773.7 kg/hm2). Except dry matter(DM), between two different types of L. hedysaroides showed significant differences on crude protein(CP), crude fat(CF), crude ash(CA), acid detergent fiber(ADF), neutral detergent fiber(NDF), calcium(Ca) and phosphorus(P) in blooming stage.3. Using WHO/FAO reference model of essential amino acid (EAA) as an appraisal criterion, the nutritional value of two different types of L. hedysaroides were evaluated by ratio coefficient of amino acid (AA).The results showed that score of ratio coefficient of amino acid was respectively 83.85 and 84.53, two different types of L. hedysaroides maybe considered as a fine proteins'source. EAAI values of two different types of L. hedysaroides were higher than 0.95, so they were well-fed.4. The curve of diurnal variation in Pn of two different types of L. hedysaroides had two peaks, and an obvious midday depression at 12:00 o'clock.Correlation analyses showed that the leading factors affecting Pn of yellow-green type could be Ci, while Gs had the greatest effect on Pn of dark-green type, and the factors affecting Tr of two different types of L. hedysaroides could be Ci.5. The chlorophyll contents of two different types of L. hedysaroides had significant differences, and the light respose curves of the net phytosynthesis rate(Pn), transpiration rate(Tr), stomatal conductance(Gs), interceller CO2 concentration(Ci), water use efficiency(WUE) and leaf temperature to the photosynthetic available radiation(PAR)of two different types of L. hedysaroides had variation at different degree.LCP and LSP of the dark-green type were lower than that of the yellow-green type, while Amax, Rd and AQY were higher than that of the yellow-green type.6. Pollens, pod-coat and seed-coat of the yellow-green type and dark-green type showed obvious differences in micromorphological features by scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation.The pollen grains of yellow-green type were long-elliptic, the size of pollen grains ranges from 18.80 to 36.27μm in diameter and reticulations had no granule; the pollen grains of dark-green type were long-global, the size of pollen grains ranges from 16.47 to 33.46μm in diameter and reticulations had granule. Yellow-green type of pod-coat was sparse and unorganized villi and its size about 250μm; dark-green type of pod-coat was intensive and regular villi and its size about 500μm.Yellow-green type of seed-coat was compact and regular cerebelloid ornamentation; dark-green type of seed-coat was loose and unregular cerebelloid ornamentation.7. Using ISSR-PCR molecular marker, the primer UBC-880 wao able to distinguish the examined two different types of L. hedysaroides. A polymorphic band in 500~600bp was detected in dark-green type, but this band was not deteceed in yellow-green type.
