Water resource has close relationship with human production and life, environmental equilibrium, and sustainable development of the economic society, it is a fundamental natural resources. Virtual water theory which was put forward by Tony Allan becomes the hot issue of water resources research, which provides the new way to realize water security. At present, many studies of virtual water theory are centralized at macro-level and medium-level; especially encourage virtual water trade to solve the water shortage and food security issues. The factors including strong wind, less and uneven precipitation in summer, which decrease the maize yield, destruct the farmland ecosystem, and influences agricultural production in west Jilin province. In this paper, virtual water will be researched at micro-level. By changing the traditional tillage methods of corn in experiment station of Northeast Normal University, through the application of computing software CROPWAT, and then analyzing and comparing the changes of crop virtual water per unit mass under the same tillage method in different years and under 6 kinds of different tillage methods in the same year, in the region, the planting model of corn in west Jilin province can be optimized. Furthermore, we can achieve efficient use of water resources, and widen the range of the study of virtual water, and sustainable water resources utilization will be also gain new inspiration.
