The test material is Liparis japonica, which is a perennial flower of high ornamental value. The study on the adaptation to light condition of Liparis japonica has not been reported so far, so this subject targets at the adpatation to light condition of Liparis japonica.Different shading degrees are set with shadenet for 40 days(full sunlight, shading for 30%,50%,705 and 90%). Then the growing stage, diurnal changes of photosynthetic rate, photosynthetic characteristics, pigment contents and anotomical structures of leaves are studied in this subject.Meanwhile, the AHP method is used to evaluate its appreciation quality. The results are as followings:1.Obvious influences on the growth of Liparis japonica by different light conditions are found. They will die in the condition of full sunlight;some characteristics such as:the height, leaf length, leaf width have a positive correlation with the shading degree, especially the shading degree for 50%.2.Obvious differences are found in the dry weight and fresh weight of their roots and leaves,as well as their specific weight in different light conditions. In different light conditions, the fresh weight and dry weight of their roots, leaves and their specific weight have a positive correlation with the shading degree, especially the shading degree for 50%.3.The diurnal variation curve of photosynthesis in the condition of full sunlight and shading for 30%is double-peak curve, while that of the conditions of shading for 50%,70% and 90%is single-peak curve. It is concluded that the Liparis japonica is a shade-tolerance plant. And Liparis japonica can be grown in the forests of shading for 90%.4.With the decrease of light intensity, the chlorophyll and the carotenoid content content increases similarly, but the a/b value decreases.5.Through the observation of the leaf anotomical structure,it is not found the differentiation of spongy tissue and palisade tissue. The leaves thickness has a negative correlation with the light intensity. The Liparis japonica can adjust the thickness of its cuticle, upper and lower epidermis to increase the capacity of light adaptation.6.AHD method is used to evaluate the appreciation quality of Liparis japonica, the resultes shows that:the comprehensive evaluation score of appreciation quality can reach 2.934 in the condition of shading for 50%,2.929 in the condition of shading for 30%,2.905 for 70%,2.673 for 90%,and 1.023 in the condition of full sunlight.
