Tobacco Color Measurement System Design

China's national 42 grade of tobacco mandatory standard is the basis for tobacco classification, the color of tobacco leaf is an important guide line of tobacco quality control. At present, the colour description for fluecured tobacco is stay on sensory evaluation level. Due to a variety of subjective and objective factors,the sensory evaluation is short of objectivity, scientific, consistency, and has caused great inconvenience to the production of fluecured tobacco industry,so as to affects its economic benefits.This paper base on the characteristics of tobacco color classification of national 42 grade of fluecured tobacco mandatory standard and the different color the tobacco present in different phases in baking process,we design a set of Tobacco color measurement system with the core of color sensor according to the color measuring of the chroma theorey. The system can be applied to the tobacco baking process, it has the character of quantitative description of the tobacco quality, real-time data acquisition, automatic control and so on. Avoid the arbitrariness in quality control by human. Make the production process of tobacco scientific, automation, to achieve tobacco's fully automated baking with the desired quality. And finally heighten the economic efficiency of the production of tobacco.Meanwhile,the research in this subject can set the base for evaluate the quality of tobacco,standardize the tobacco purchase, the classification of artificial intelligence and so on. The color measurement and control,is also the frequently difficulties encounterd in scientific research and various industries. To carry out exploratory studies in this field,can also set a base for the quality control in color-related industries.
