In this paper the wild ornamental plants resources in the BiFeng Gorge scenic area were investigated, based on the method of the typical sample combining visiting route. The flora structure, composition and the main ornamental plant were researched by 20 samples selected at different directions, altitudes, habitat and different vegetation types. The research results indicated that 328 species of wild ornamental plants, belonging to 221 genera in 100 families emerged in BiFeng Gorge scenic area ,including 21 fern species belonging to 16 genera in 11 families, 305 angiosperm plant species belonging to 203 genera in 87 families, 2 gymnosperm plants species belonging to 2 genera in 2 families. Totally 118 tree species, 45 shrub species, 134 herb species , 29 vine species invoved. There were 6 families having more than 9 species, 12 families having more than 4 species, 41 families having 2 to 4 species, and 26 families having only 1 species.Three distribution types of the fern family flora and eight of spermatophyte family flora existed in the BiFeng Gorge scenic area , the tropical distribution being superior in both situation, 5 fern families and 42 permatophyte families included respectively. The areal-types of fern genera had six types, tropical was the largest, while spermatophyte owned 13 types. with 84 tropical genera and 72 temperate genera, leading the first two. Those life-style types as phanerophyte, chamaephytes, hemicryptophytes, cryptophytes and therophytes distributed in BiFeng Gorge scenic area of which phanerophytes predominated. As for the leaf style, medium-sized , herby and leathery leaves were predominant.
