This study observed the effects of the Hippophae rhamnoides on immune function for rats. Purpose is to provide evidence for application of HR in animal feeds additive. There are 160 rats in the experiment, half male and half female, the weight is 180±20g. The rats were divided into four groups by weight. The control group rats were fed with NS. Experiment group rats were fed with HR homogenate by 5 g/kg,2.5 g/kg,1.25g/kg, once a day, continuous 10 days. Effect of non-specific immunity function and specific immunity function of rats was measured. The main index include the weight of rats, immune organs index, the sum of WBC,. celiac macrophage ability of engulfing, RBC immunity function, transformation of T lymphocytes, blood serum hemolysin and haemolysis void. The experiment result show:1. HR is capable of increasing immune organs index and the sum of the WBC, improving celiac macrophage ability of engulfing, elevating the levels of RBC. C3bRR and depressing RBC.ICRR by the experimental group. So HR is capable of increasing non-specific immunity function of rats.2. HR is capable of increasing transformation of T lymphocytes, blood serum hemolysin and haemolysis void. So HR is capable of increasing specific immunity function of rats.3. HR homogenate (2.5g/kg) is the best group, HR homogenate (1.25g/kg) is the better group. It shows HR is capable of increasing immunity function of rats in a certain bound, with the dose increasing, the capable of immunity function is increasing. If the dose is exceeded, immunity effection is descend. It shows HR has the function of immunoloregulation. Conclusion: Taking certain dose HR by orally can increase the non-specific immunity function and specific immunity function of rats.
