The rice series combination of Bo You is the major planting variety of nonglutinous rice in GuangXi Province. The combination is high yield and steady yield, the adaptability is wide, the disease resistance and the antireversion force are strong. The economical character is good. The outstanding manifestation of the combination is that the eating quality of the series is good. The combination of Bo You makes great contributions to grain production of GuangXi province. But the outlook quality-the shape of the grain, the male sterile line Bo A hasn't reached to the superior standard established by government. The grain shape of the combination of the series is hardly reached to the superior standard established by government. The grain quality of the male sterile line Qiu A is all right, the shape of the grain is good and the numerical value of the length/width is good as well. So the study of the type linked up whith SSR, used the maintainer line Qiu B(nonrecurrent parent), improved the maintainer line Bo B(recurrent parent) by recurrent hybridize. The purpose was to make a new strain of breed that could inherit the grain length gene of Qiu B and could keep the merit of Bo B. So Bo B could accord with people's demand on outlook and reached to the standard of high quality grain that constituted by government. The result was as follows:1,Filtered a pair of primers in 54 pairs of primers. The marker of the primer is oriented on the third chromosome by other research. The study Established the basic for the more testify this marker linkages whith the grian length gene.2,Through backcross breeding, it proved that the grain length gene was controlled by major gene resistance. The gene of long grain was partially dominant to the gene of short grain. The gene of the big grain width was completely dominant to the gene of short grain width. While the length/width ratio of glumes was cotrolled by minor multiple gene.3,Making use of Qiu B which the character preferably in length hybridized in field whith Bo B. By tow backcrosses, got the hybridized descendants of BC2F1, which the character was preferably in length. It settled the materal foundation to improve the grain character of Bo B in the future.
