| Dam infertility seriously affects the development of animal husbandry, becoming economical problem all over the world. Although better curative effect are obtained,there are many increasingly clear disadvantages,such as tolerance and bigger side effect,especially residuary drug in livestock products to threaten human health. In traditional Chinese veterinary medicine,Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture are applied in the treatment. They have many advantages and can effectively avoid above-mentioned drawback,but some problems,such as unstable effect,inconvenient administration,huge prescription and so on, remain to be solved. The purpose of this study was to seek high-effect,low-toxicity and no-residul natural medicament for dam infertility and to serve animal production better.The experiment synthesized the experience of the treatment in curing women's sterility and the report of inducing estrus in swine,cattle and sheep in veterinary clinics,12 kinds of Chinese herbal medicine were screened out. According to theories of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine,rational composed herbal medicine. Compose five recipes and apply to the small white rats. According to the influences of the different recipes in the small white rat's index,the composed Chinese herbal medicines which had greater acceleration to the small white rat's reproductive systems were screened out. The drug was used to treat dam ovary quiescence in clinical test.The results for the induction of estrus by the medicines are as follows:1. After treatments with different Chinese herbal medicines,the total weight of the uterus and ovary,the middle and external diameter of uterine horn and the proportion of big to middle follicles and the diameter of the biggest follicles all changed significantly which compared to the control group The results from the Chinese herbal medicineⅡ,Ⅲwere remarkably,different to the control group (p<0.01).The Chinese herbal medicineⅡ,Ⅳespecially for theⅤhad a significant accelerating function to the development of small white rat's reproductive system.2. The Chinese herbal prescriptionⅡandⅢtaking orally group,their estrus ratio were 86.67% and 73.33%,comparing to,and the pregnant ration was 60.00% and 46.67%. Therefore,the Chinese herbal medicineⅡwas selected to be the best prescription.3. The change in concentration of P4 in the plasma of dairy cows after treatment with Chinese medicine: The cows of used the Chinese herbal prescriptionⅡandⅢ,at first 24 hours,it increased a little. But later it began to decline.The 7 day after treatment with Chinese medicine concentration of P4 began to increase (1.15ng/m and 0.79ng/mL). Afterwards it increased gradually and increased to 3.22ng/mL和2.59ng/mL on the day of 25. The cows of used the Chinese herbal prescriptionⅡandⅢ,at the beginning,E2 were 4.58pg/mL and 4.75pg/mL on an average.The concentration of E2 before taking medicine and in the early days were both low.It was increased quickly until by the day of 5 reach to 16.3pg/mL and 16.1pg/mL.Then on the 7 day ,it began to decline.4. The change in concentration of Ca in the plasma of dairy cows after treatment with Chinese medicine was increased. The change in concentration of P in the plasma of dairy cows after treatment with Chinese medicine was no change.On the clinical test,some dairy cows have course of disease exceed one year,The Chinese herbal prescriptionⅡandⅢdidn't got good therapeutic efficacy.How to help them revive, raise curative effect of the drug.We need do more clinical tests, and to improve the prescription.
