Ligustrum vicaryi is a new cultivated variety of garden plants these years. It has low and graceful plant, flourish branch and leaves, brilliant and striking golden lamina, which make it to be a kind of coloured ground vegetations that are substitutes for lawn in garden landscaping currently. Landscape made by arranging Ligustrum vicaryi, Berberis thunbergii van atropurpurea and Sabina chinensis in groups is very beautiful and jewelly. At present, Ligustrum vicaryi is planted in many places, and is selled very well in the markets and has a very good development prospect. However, there are still a lot of problems: during cutting propagation of Ligustrum vicaryi, the problem about using growth hormone blindly seriously affects the rooting effects, in the process of maintaining and managing the surviving cuttage seedlings, brown patch results to defoliation and seedlings dead; in the landscape virescence applications, lamina brown patch seriously influenced the landscape appreciation.Therefor, this experiment studied the softwood cutting and hardwood cutting all the year round, and the exterior environment factors' influences on seedlings; as well as the promotion of exogenous auxin and type of cutting in rooting of soft wood and hard wood, the air temperature,air humidity, light intensity and soil humidity impacts on seedlings. The paper also analysed the law rooting of softwood and hardwood cuttage of Ligustrum vicaryi and the better exterior environment of seedlings growth, and got the following results:(1)Study on softwood of Ligustrum vicaryi rooting law by orthogonal experiment. The results showed:the rooting types of Ligustrum vicaryi were root type of shin and callus rooting type. Hormone concentration made the greatest impact on the softwood cuttage rooting time and rooting effect. The earliest rooting time was 13.33 days, when the lower-middle part of softwood cutting was treated by ABT2 in the concentration of 100 mg/L for 60 minutes. Different types of hormone, hormone concentrations, parts of trees and treating times all had evidently various influences on softwood of Ligustrum vicaryi rooting effects, the order from highest to lowest was hormone concentrations, types of hormone, parts of trees and treating times. Synthetical analysed by Subordination value, the results showed: the combination of selecting the lower-middle part of soft wood, treated by the mixed solution in the concentration of 100 mg/L which was mixed by NAA and IBA at a ratio of 1:1 for 1 minute, had the best rooting effect.Selecting the lower-middle part of soft wood, treated by ABT2 for 60 minutes, also had a good rooting effect also: the rooting rate was 100%, the rooting quantity was 33.93 roots per cuttage, the average of root leghth was 3.73 cm, partial rooting rate was 6.67%, rotting rate was 0, callus rate was 100%.(2)Study on hardwood of Ligustrum vicaryi rooting law by orthogonal experiment. The results showed: Type of hormone had the greatest impact on hardwood cuttage rooting in spring and autumn. And in summer and winter, the most important factor was hormone concentration. The order of the four factors which had influences on hardwood cuttage rooting, from the highest to the lowest, was:in spring, type of hormone, treating time, hormone concentration and cutting type; in summer and winter, hormone concentration, type of hormone, treating time and cutting type; in autumn, type of hormone, hormone concentration, treating time and cutting type. Different types of hormone, hormone concentrations and treating times all had evidently various influences on hardwood of Ligustrum vicaryi rooting effects. Synthetical analysed by Subordination value, the results showed the best combinations. Those were: In spring, selecting hardwood cuttage of a diameter of 0.15cm, treated by IBA in the concentration of 100mg/L for 1 minute; in summer and autumn, selecting hardwood cuttage of a diameter of 0.10cm, treated by IBA in the concentration of 100mg/L for 1 minute; In winter, selecting hardwood cuttage of a diameter of 0.10cm, treated by water for 1 minute. Hardwood cutting propagation of Ligustrum vicaryi can be used all the year around. Hard wood cutting in summer had the best effect, spring and autumn took second place, winter was the worst.(3)This paper studied the exterior environment factors' (air humidity,light intensity,soil humidity and air temperature) influences on seedlings of Ligustrum vicaryi growth by controlled the four factors. The results showed: air humidity and temperature,light, soi humidity intensity and intersectant factors had significant influences on seedlings' growth. The external environment unsuitable for seedling growth for a long time was: air humidity above 80% or lower than 60% ; light intensity lower than 100LX; soil humidity above 80% or lower than 60%, and environment temperature higher than 35℃. In 20 days,a majority of seedlings had died in 40℃, and in 60 days a majority of seedlings had defoliated or died. The environment which was suitable for living cuttage to grow for a long time was air humidity between 60% and 80%, light intensity higher than 1000LX,relative soil water between 60% and 80%, and air temperature between 25℃and 30℃.
