In the 20th century, there is a rapid increase in energy consumption and an enormous imbalance in the world. In the 21st century, on the one hand, the demand for energy has no signs of abating (especially in some developing countries), on the other hand, the traditional non-renewable energy resources, such as oil, coal and natural gas cause irreparable damage to the environment, that makes the development of new energy become the research focus of today's eco-friendly energy. Nowadays, biomass energy resource becomes the focal point of study all over the world due to its advantages of wide distribution, low environmental pollution, sustainable utilization, etc.Directing combustion is the earliest and simplest technology for obtaining energy from the biomass, but its combustion efficiency is relatively low, as well as a significant waste of energy resource. Breaking through the traditional utilization of biomass, in this dissertation, a novel technology was developed in term of pulverized coal combustion technology, which crushed the biomass into powder size and then combusted to obtain sufficient energy. That is significant to environmental protection and sustainable development of the energy. In the dissertation, method of apparatus measuring is taken to analyzing ordinary biomass (powdered corn straw) on physical, chemical and combustion properties. Method and advantages and disadvantages about pretreatment of biomass (crush, dry) are summed up. On the base of that, biomass burner suit for powder fuel is designed with combining theory and practice. Optimal granule radius, optimal water content ratio and excess air coefficient are explored by doing a lot of work and analyzing several experiment data. Ash and fly ash content of exhaust smoke and burning residue are analyzed by using several analysis apparatus. Result show that powder biomass combustion has a high burning efficiency and burning residue such as sulfide, nitrogen oxides and Lingelmann blackness are far below the national emission standards. Powder biomass fuel is efficiency and cleanly fuel, the ash of that is a very nice fertilizer. Defect is that dust content of powder biomass burning residue is higher than the national emission standard. For further utilization, it must undergo dust-removal disposal.
