Feed was the material base of development of livestock husbandry, now, Chinahas been No. 2 biggest feed-production country in world. As the economy maintains thehigher growth rate, Chinese living level would gain further improvement, people'sneed to the meat, egg, milk Further to bound up, this would promote furtherdevelopment of livestock husbandry, feed industry would certainly keep fasterdevelopment. Now, the development of livestock husbandry was still imbalance,ruminant animal products were still less, the feed-production volume for ruminantanimals was still lower, there were wider gaps than the average level in world, theproduction of ruminant animal products and feed had great developing potentialities.Now, concentrate and roughage were delivered separately in raising ruminant animalsin China, which had exposed more and more defects as the scale development of raisingruminant animals, especially in dairy. Therefore, total mixed ration (TMR) had begunto gain more and more uses in raising ruminant animals in large dairy farms. Now,the studies for TMR mixers were still less in China, large TMR mixers mainly dependon import abroad. Therefore, the TMR mixer were viewed as object of study, thesingle-shaft horizontal TMR mixer was studied in the paper.1. It was to study the design of the TMR mixer around the total mixed ration mixedneeds of ruminant animals, applied to gather cutting, kneed, mixed in theintegral whole of design thought, designed the study applied singlehorizontal shaft TMR mixer. By the method of quadratic orthogonal rotationcombination test study, and Many indexes were considered in the study for the TMR mixerin the paper,such as length, variance of mixture evenness,pulverization rate,powerconsumption and so on.2. In structural design of the single horizontal shaft TMR mixer, it wasconsidered to cutting and kneading function of the mixer, paddles were disposed onthe shaft according to spiral and small phase position with equality distanceintervine; On the paddles are fixed cutting reamer and rubbing reamer,on the bottomshell are fixed stable reamers which are matched with moving cutting reamer, reversedial flitchs are fixed on the shaft which are equality space with the paddles, in order to balance rotor two sides paddles pushing materiels ability and holding mixing roommateriels equality.3. It was maken in the paper to study on structure and mixing course of thesingle-shaft horizontal TMR mixer. The structural and motional parameters weredetermined as follows:quantity of reamer 12, rotation speed 68rpm, operation duration7min and total mixed ration humidity 34%.4. Experimental results and analysis for the principle of mixing provide furthertheory evidence for the design of single horizontal shaft TMR mixer.
