The experiments located in Luoyang, Xinxiang, Xunxian and Zhengzhou focused on the suitable planting mode for different winter wheat varieties, including Yumai 50, Zhoumai 18, Luohan 2 and Zhengmai 004. The result showed that there were significant differences of the roots development, the dry matter accumulation and the yielding and the yielding component for the all varieties between the different bed planting modes: 3 row/bed type and 4 rows/bed type. The main result showed that:1 There was significant differences of the root system dynamic dry matter accumulation between the bed planting and the flat planting system. The dry matter accumulation of the root system of the wheat under the bed planting system was higher than that of the flat planting system.2 Both of the two bed planting systems, 3 rows/bed and 4 rows/bed can improve the account of the dry matter of the root. And, the length of the first node and 2nd node from the root getting shorter under the bed planting system than that of the flat planting system, by this way, the lodging resistance ability of the wheat could be improved.3 The bed planting system can improve the economic yielding of the wheat. The bio mass of the wheat planed under flat planting system is higher than that of under the bed planting system, but the grain yielding is lower compared to the bed planting system. 4 The yielding improvement rate of the two different bed-planting systems was significantly different compare to that of the flat-planting system. Both of the bed-planting system can improve the wheat yielding, but the 4 rows/bed system has better improvement rate than that of the 3 rows/bed system.
