One hundred aad forty male China Xupu geese that about 1 day were selected as experimental animals. After 98 days feeding and 7 days prefeeding, cultured trials with one-way grade design were conducted to determine the effects of dietary vitamin E on growth performance, fatty liver performance, antioxidant ability of the fatty liver, blood fat metabolism, blood biochemical indices. The VE supplement in experiment diet were 0 IU/kg, 50 IU/kg, 100 IU/kg, 200 IU/kg, 400IU/kg. The results of the test were as follows:(1) Growth performance: Bisides group5, the weight of group2, group 3, group 4 was respectively higer than the control group by 5.78%, 7.90%, 9.63%, the feed conversion was respectively lower than the control group by 32.18%, 32.35%, 32.54%, but they were not remarkable(P>0.05). For the weight gain, the effect of group 4 was significantly higher than the control group by 54.02%, and the difference was significant (P<0.05).(2) Dressing performance: the dressing performance of the control group and test group were not remarkable(P>0.05). The addition of vitamin E can reduce the subcutaneous fat depth and inter-muscle fat width and promote the abdominal fat deposition.(3) Fatty liver performance: Besides group 5, the fatty liver weight and the liver weight/body weight of the test group were higher than the control group, the feed intake/liver weight were lower than the control group. The fatty liver weight of group 3 and group 4 were higer than the control group by 23.32%, 28.80%, the feed intake/liver weight were lower than the control group by 13.95%, 14.14%, and the difference was significant(P<0.05). The liver weight/body weight of the group 4 was higer than the control group by 11.52%, it was significant (P<0.05).(4) Blood fat metabolism: the TC, the LDL-C, the TG, the VLDL level in serum of the test group were lower than the control group, the LDL-C level was higher than the control group. Besides the TG of group 5 and the VLDL of the group 3, the blood fat metabolism of the other group were not remarkable.(5) Vitamin E deposition: as the VE supplement increased, the concentrations of serum VE and liver VE increased significantly(P<0.05). The concentrations of serum VE of the group2, group 3, group 4 was respectively higher than the control group(P<0.05). The concentrations of liver V_E of the group4 and group 5 were higher than the other group(P<0.05). The concentrations of liver VE of the group2 and group 3 were higher than the control group(P<0.05).(6) Antioxidant ability: the T-AOC in serum, the SOD in liver of the test group were significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05). The T-AOC in liver of group 4, group 5 were higher than the control group by 143.53%, 111.37%, the GSH-Px in liver of group 3, group 4, group 5 were higher than the control group by 41.62%, 54.61%, 62.79%, it were significant(P<0.05).The MDA in serum of group 3, group 4 was respectively lower than the control group by 8.53%,21.75%, it was significant(P<0.05).The concentrations of MDA in liver of test groups were lower than the control group significantly(P<0.05).(7) Blood Physiological indices: the HB, the RBC, the WBC of test group were higher than the control group, it is not remarkable(P>0.05). The lymphocytes was lower than the control group, besides group5, the other group were not significant (P>0.05).(8) Blood biochemical indices: there is no evidently difference on TP, ALB, GLB, G/A when adding different level of vitamin E, they change in the normal range(P<0.05).The addition of vitamin E can reduce the ALT, AST significantly(P<0.05).(9) Chemical Composition: the water and the lipid in liver of test group were remarkably lower than the control group(P<0.05). The protein in liver of group 2, group 3, group 4 was respectively lower than the control group by 1.95%, 7.95%, 11.30%, it is not remarkable(P>0.05). There is no evidently difference on the water, the protein, the lipid and the ash of the breast muscle and leg muscle when adding different level of vitamin E.Conclusion: adding 100~200 IU/kg vitamin E can increased significantly the weight gain, fatty liver performance, the concentrations of serum VE and liver VE and antioxidant ability of the fatty liver, improved growth performance, blood fat metabolism, blood biochemical indices of the China Xupu geese.
