A Study On Main Characteristics Of 18 Foreign Tomato Germplasm Resources

By compare test on planting of those materials of 18 foreign tomato germplasm resources which were introduced in two years, the growth period, the yield, the infection rate, the characteristics of stem, the leaf and flower, and the growth dynamics were observed in filed, the quality of appearance, the physiological characteristics, the inherent quality, the storability of the fruits were analyzed in lab. To evaluate comprehensive characteristics by using DTOPSIS at last in order to select better materials which could be used in planting or breeding, furthermore enrich the tomato germplasm resources of our country. The results were as follows.1, T31 was oblate, red and large-sized fruit, whose lycopene content was relatively high, tasted well, the yield was relatively high and the comprehensive properties were good; Sapho was round, red and small-sized fruit, whose results of comprehensive evaluations were best, the quality was good, tasted well, the yield was high, the infection rate was relatively low, and the fruits matured consistently, could be harvested by bunch. T14 was the nearly round, red and medium-sized fruit, whose yield was relatively high and quality was good. T13 was oblate, red and large-sized fruit, the inherent quality was general, tasted well, less disease and higher yield. Those germplasm resources were suitable for popularizing to plant.2, T35's appearance was like cherry, the quality was good and tasted well, the yield was relatively low, and easy to crack in fields. The fruits of Black Plum had green shoulder, tasted sandy by raw, the content of Soluble solids was relatively high. The fruit of PI120256 and PI174263 had more and deeply carves of cracking, the fruit navel was relatively big, and the pulp was scarlet and juicy, tasted well and the lycopene content was high. The yield of T12 was relatively high; the protein content was relatively high and less diseases in fields. The lycopene content of T25 was relatively high, the yield was relatively low, and other characteristics were general. The vitamin C content of High Calotene TM928 and Vita gold was relatively high. All the above germplasm resources could be used for breeding.3, The appearance and internal structure of T27's fruit were similar to long-pepper. It had the characteristics of tomato-pepper; it could be preserved as special genetic resource.4, Health Kick, Garden Peach, Golden Roma, Snow White and AC++ did bad performance in field, and the results of comprehensive evaluation of those was not good. It needed to do further observation and research on the value in use of them.
