The Burma Reed is a wild indigenous herbaceous plant widely distributing in south of our country, has the very good resistance performance. And it has been used in re-vegetation and eco-restoration recently years. But there is a lack of ecophysiology characteristic research. This article studied the ecophysiology characteristic of Burma Reed applied in the slope protection by the wild distribution investigation at Shenzhen, the seed germination, the growth quantity and the drought resistance research , and provided the theory basis for a Burma reed better application to the vegetation slope protection.typical sample plot survey indicate that Burma Reed is the dominant populations on the slope. The result of Burma Reed seed germination experiment show that the best recovery time of wild Burma reed seed's in shen zhen area is the beginning of February, the rate of germination is 95% in this time, the best temperiture of germination is 25℃~35℃, but the Burma Reed seed don' t germinate below 15℃. The rate of germination about Burma Reed seed obvious reduce along with the time of storage, the rate of germination is 89.3% after 3 month, 76% after 6 month, 32.6% after 9 month, and 0% after 12 month. According to this test result, the suggestion is the best time to sow the Burma Reed seed is February to June every year in the Shenzhen area slope protection.Through covariance analysis, there are not obvious difference in the morphological characteristics of Burma Reed seedlings with different seeding rate(1,2.5,5,10g/m~2). The rate of Burma Reed seedlings is slow in beginning 40 days, then become faster .Until 60 days, Burma Reed seedlings has formed a uniform grass with a height of 14.85cm.On the stress of drought, it showed the Negative correlation between the changes of cumulative total of plant Pro and the soluble protein content. This experiment indicated that changes of the Pro content can be a measure of the ability of drought resistance plants. The peak of the content appears sooner or later and the content on that time will respond to the ability of plant's drought resistance. That means the peak appear later and higher content with the strong drought resistance, otherwise the drought resistance will be weak.
