| Dogs belong to the animal with single estrus but a relative long dioestrus. This special reproduction characteristic restrains the dog-breeding industry and the researches based on dogs. Referring to the study of inducing estrus in swine, cattle and sheep clinically, we screened out PMSG+HCG hormone combination as the most effective and expedient method. Three groups of dogs, including dieoestrum, young of nonestrus and sterile agedness dogs, were studied separately. Results demonstrated that PMSG+HCG, was effective in the groups of dieoestrum and young of nonestrus but useless for the sterile agedness dogs. And a little ounce PMSG was sterile for dog's inducing estrus. Study of different means of administering PMSG on dieoestrum testified that when dogs were administrated several times but a little ounce each time, the success rate of inducement was 44%(15/34), which is markedly higher than dogs with one administration. We also found that it was convenient and accurate to diagnose dogs'oestrum by vaginal cytological smears, especially when combining hormone examination.Recently, improvement in the technique of dogs'artificial insemination with cryopreserved semen appeared, but it required rigorous condition and complicated steps. This experiment focused on dogs'artificial insemination with fresh semen. We got the semen samples from six male beagles by artificial collection. We established three semen donators from six samples through evaluating the capacity, density, vigor, color and etc of semen. Eleven estrus and inducing estrus bitches were inseminated three times after an interval of one day during an oestrum. Two bitches were pregnant and then delivered seven young beagles 61-62 days after the first artificial insemination. This superiority of artificial insemination with fresh semen will facilitate the dog-breeding industry. The embryo was rinsed from bitch's oviduct after mating in its estrus and then input into the receivers'oviduct via surgery.
