The Research On Optimal Design Of Humanistic Landscape Of College Campus

Since the 1990s, with the enrollment extension, the number of college students increases rapidly, and many universities in China has experienced unprecedented infrastructure booms for the past few years. But the problem following is that some distinctive colleges are losing their characters, and the construction of cultural landscape also neglect to maintain their distinctive features.The paper analyzes the humanistic landscap of university campus from the connotation, elements as well as characteristics, introduces the practical function and educational role which is displayed, inherited and spreaded by it. The design on humanistic landscape of campus must follow the princples that includes basing on the campus culture, acting according to circumstances, being people-oriented, and innovatinng combined with inheritance. Through analyzing the current situation of humanistic landscape in the main campus of Hunan Normal University, the discovered problems show as follows:The understanding of campus culture is unsufficien; The profound historical culture connotation is rarely found and expressed; The design on functional humanities landscape is lack of features and change; The protection and management measures are not enough.In order to solve the problen, the article proposed the following solutiones:1 The campuse culture should not only be confined to the presentations such as school-motto,school-badge etc. Visual symbols and meaningful graphic should be used in the design of humanistic landscape.2 Though confound research and understanding to the cultual connotation in the historical landscapes that stand out as landmarks, the factores that extracted from the traditonal sign should be used in the new landscape-design.3 In order to keep the oriental features, restoration as it was should be applied instead of brush painting or switching matieral blindly.4 Take good use of natural enviroment and location, the humanistic landscape should be matched with the surroundings.5 The overall planning and design on functional landscapes should be runned in campus.6 Strengthen the protection and management on humanistic landscapes.
