Situation Analysis And Numerical Classification Of The Chimonanthus Cultivar Resources In Hefei

Chimonanthus is our specialty and one of our traditional flowers in China. It has good medicinal,ornamental,ecological and other values. Essence can be extracted from the flowers of Chimonanthus,and the flowers after baking are rare medicinal herbs and have the effect of Jieshu Sheng Jin. Stems and roots of Chimonanthus can also be made into the drugs that relieve cough. The flowers of Chimonanthus blossom in early spring,and are good shares for watching in winter,and also can be used as potted flowers, flowers in vase and tree stumps bonsai which is unique. Because Chimonanthus is cold-resistant,drought-resistant, and has strong growth adaptation,it is good species of blocking the wind,fixeing soil, and soil and water conservation. But in recent years Chimonanthus has been seriously damaged with the rapid destruction of natural forests plants and a lot of excavation from people. At the same time,there is no relevant reports on the situation analysis and research of the Chimonanthus Cultivar Resources in Hefei yet. And so far no recognized standards of the classification system of the Chimonanthus Cultivar Resources are published up,which requires further study.Therefore,survey,analysis and research on the Chimonanthus Cultivar Resources in Hefei are conducted on the basis of previous research for the purpose to provide some reference for researching and improving the classification systems of the Chimonanthus Cultivars better in future and for protection, promotion and the use of Chimonanthus in Hefei even in Anhui.The result shows that there are about 64 Chimonanthus Cultivars in Hefei after investigation.To the 64 Chimonanthus Cultivars and 14 selection floral traits as the research objects,cluster analysis and principal component analysis are did.Q cluster analysis shows that: first,64 Chimonanthus Cultivars are divided into two in accordance with"aspect ratio of the central tepals";then the major class 1 is clustered into two categories in accordance with"colors of internal tepals".R cluster analysis shows that: in the 14 floral traits, only a few traits show some correlation in the forest map,and most floral traits are not highly correlated and independent.Principal component analysis takes that the cumulative contribution rate of principal components is above 80% as the standard, and it extracted seven principal components.After analysis,"the shape of the central tepals","floral type","aspect ratio of the central tepals","colors of internal tepals","colors of central tepals"are finally selected as important factors of classification of varieties of Chimonanthus.The results of the cluster analysis and principal component analysis show that:"aspect ratio of the central tepals"and"colors of internal tepals"are the most critical factors that affect the classification of Chimonanthus Cultivars,and"the shape of the central tepals","floral type"and"colors of central tepals"are the second important basis.When the classification of Chimonanthus Cultivars are did,these five floral traits in the order are the first, second, third, fourth, fifth standard of classification. The landscape application of Chimonanthus in Hefei are mainly the following forms:(1)green walls; (2)bonsai tree stump;(3)view combined with the road;(4)courtyard or residential view;(5)city park landscaping.The issues of the landscape application of Chimonanthus are the following:(1)The number of planting and range of applications are small;(2)Plant configurations are monotony and lack of artistic quality;(3)The phenomenon of emphasising on planting and contempting conservation is widespread.The recommendations of landscape application forms are the following:(1)combining with rocks and terrain;(2)combining with the road,as the middle level ornamental trees of the landscape boulevards;(3)the establishment of special classes Chimonanthus Botanic Gardens;(4)the combination with water in garden;(5)city square landscape;(6)golf course;(7)cut flowers view;(8)the application in the scenic area;(9)factories and mines green.Other recommendations are the following:(1)attention to the survey of the resources of varieties of Chimonanthus in Hefei and the building of the nursery;(2)recommendations on configuration:appropriate combination with other plants, rocks,terrain,landscape pieces and other factors,and mining of the cultural connotation of Chimonanthus;(3)to strengthen the intensity of promotion and application;(4)rational exploitation of local wild resources of Chimonanthus;(5)to strengthen prevention and control of pests and diseases;(6)to explore the physical,ecological characteristics and cultivation techniques of Chimonanthus;(7)to pay attention to comprehensive utilization of Chimonanthus;(8)to strengthen cooperation and dialogue:in conjunction with other regions or cities to strengthen information exchange and cooperation of the market demand of resources of varieties of Chimonanthus;(9)emphasis on scientific management and protection and sustainable development ;( 10 ) to strengthen the garden application study of Chimonanthus;(11)innovation of Chimonanthus germplasm resources;(12)to improve the professional quality of landscape designer;(13)full use of the olfactory stimulation of Chimonanthus:Chimonanthus is used in plant healthy places and places in the service for the blind;(14)landscaping that using combinations of different Chimonanthus Cultivars:to combine the Chimonanthus Cultivars that have significant difference in the floral type,colors of central tepals,colors of internal tepals to enrich the plant landscape.
