Abstract/Summary:
Bronchial asthma is a worldwide disease, which has nothing to do with age and gender. Along with the degeneration of environment, which is caused by of the pollution, the number of patients is increasing as time goes on. So the issue of asthma has been paid more attention. My mentor professor Xu believes that asthma is caused by both introgenous factors and exogenous factors. It starts from the lung, the spleen and the kidney, and sputum, the pathological product, influences the lung mainly. But that is not the end. If a patient with asthma has been ill for a long time, the pathogenic factors will cause the deficiency of his body. If asthma is at the active stage, then the exogenous factors are the main etiologies, and we should treat it by expectorant, along with regulating qi and expel the pathological factors; if asthma is at the remission stage, then the deficiency of body is the main etiology, so we should reinforce the lung, the spleen and the kidney. That means we should treat the root cause and symptoms at the same time. And the most important thing is that it is remarkable on treating asthma at the remission stage. The mentor professor Xu, who has been a doctor for more than 30 years, is expert in both the traditional Chinese medicine and the western medicine. She never stops reading the ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine and absorbing their essence. All she want is to find a perfect way in integrating traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine with her rich experience. I am so luck to choose professor Xu as my mentor. Though I am not that smart, I still have learn lots of things from her.
