Professor Gao Tianshu 's Experience In Treating Peripheral Neuropathy Of Damp - Heat Diabetes Mellitus

Purpose:To sum up the existing problems and future development direction of Chinese medicine treatment of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy; To summarize the academic experience and ideas of professor Gao Tianshu in treating the damp-heat type of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy.Method:The paper reviewed the literature and clinical research. The summary part details on Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy in the research advance of Chinese and Western Medicine Clinic, and from which summed up the existing problems and future development direction of the Chinese medicine treatment of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy. The clinical part summarized the academic thinking of Professor Gao from clinical experiences in treating the damp-heat type of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy.Results:In Professor Gao’s opinion, diabetic peripheral neuropathy should be treated according to damp-heat point of view and put forward the theory "Xiaoke is caused by damp-heat, which then can lead to Bi Syndrome". The main principle of treatment is to dispel damp-heat then supply qi to strengthen spleen, activate blood to resolve phlegm and finally free vessels to relieve pain. By this way, the use of "Supplemented Danggui Niantong Tang" significantly improved the symptoms.Conclusion:This study preliminarily summaried the experience and academic thinking of the treatment of the damp-heat type of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy from Professor Gao and thus provided the more valuable clinical guidance.
