Objective This topic took cancerous somatic pain patients belonging to the differentiated syndrome of stagnation of Yin-cold as research object to observe the clinical effects and the safety of the external use of bone pain paste. Methods 66 patients with cancerous somatic pain were randomly divided into treatment group (33 cases) and control group (33 cases). The control group took Oxycodone Hydrochloride Prolonged-release Tablets orally, beside this, the treatment group also used the bone pain pastes invented by our department (the formula consists of 20 grams of Cinnamomum cassia,15 grams of sunburn monkshood,6 grams of asarum, 8 grams of rhizoma zingiberis,9 grams of Curculigo orchioides 6 grams of Scorpion,15 grams of radix clematidis,10 grams of Indian Iphigenia Bulb,10 grams of Flos Caryophyllata). The observation period was 10 days, observing the NRS pain scores, karnofsky and the grade in impact of pain measurement of each group of patients before and after the treatment. We recorded the NRS pain scores, the frequency of breakthrough pain, the dosage of pain killers like morphine everyday during the treatment and compared the data of the two groups to determine the ratio of pain relief and the physically curative effect after the treatment. We also did the safety observation to evaluate the clinical effects and the safety of the external use of bone pain paste. Results There were 61 cases in all,31 cases in the treatment group and 30 cases in the control group. The difference of gender, age, type of cancer, NRS pain scores, karnofsky, the grade in impact of pain measurement between the two groups before the treatment had no statistically significance. The total effective rate in the treatment group was 96.77%, while the other group was 90%,the difference had no statistically significance (P>0.05). The significant efficiency of the treatment group was 80.6%, while the other group was 56.7%. So there was statistically significance (P<0.05). The comparison of NRS pain scores before and after the treatment in the group had remarkable statistically significance (P<0.01), while the comparison between the two groups had no statistically significance (P>0.05). The difference of KPS scores before and after the treatment in the treatment group was remarkable (P<0.01),while the difference in the other group had no statistically significance (P>0.05). The grade in impact of pain measurement before and after treatment in both group had remarkable Statistically significance (P<0.01).while the difference between the two groups could be ignored (P>0.05). The total dosage of pain killers like morphine had no statistically significance (P>0.05).When it came to the comparison of the occurrence of breakthrough pain before and after the treatment, the treatment group had statistically significance (P <0.05), while the control group didn’t (P>0.05). But the comparison between the two groups had no statistically significance (P>0.05). The laboratory index before and after the treatment had no statistically significance between the two groups (P>0.05).All of the patients had no adverse reaction like skin allergy. Conclusions The research shows that the therapy of bone pain paste can relieve the cancerous somatic pain belonging to the differentiated syndrome of stagnation of Yin-cold, which can effectively reduce the NRS scores and the grade in impact of pain measurement, decrease the frequency of breakthrough pain, and improve the quality of life. It’s convenient and safe to apply clinically. 属性不符...
