Objective:Through observate the curative effects of two schemes (four step-two method Tuina combined with Acupuncture therapy, simple Acupuncture therapy) in the treatment of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation. To analyze whether the four step two massage combined with acupuncture is more curative than simple acupuncture, and make objective and scientific evaluation, and provide the basis for clinical treatment. Methods:The study collected 63 cases from Tuina department of Guang’ anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. The patients were randomly divided into two groups,31 cases in the treatment group and 32 cases in the control group. In the course of treatment,5 cases were off. The complete number of cases was 58. There were 28 cases in the treatment group and 30 cases were in the control group. Through summarizing the experience of clinical treatment of Dr. Ding Quanmao, to summarize the four step-two method Tuina combined with Acupuncture therapy, and to study it. The treatment group was treated by four step-two method Tuina combined with Acupuncture therapy. Tuina and acupuncture were both about 15 minutes. The control group was only treated by acupuncture. The time was 15 minutes. The treatments of acupuncture in two groups were exactly same. The study uses the JOA (Japanese Orthopedic Association Scores) to determine the effects of the treatments, and use SPSS19.0 to analyze the results of different treatments.Results:1. JOA score:The average score of JOA in the treatment group is 27.39±3.34, which increased 12.75 points than before. However, the average score of JOA in the control group is 24.8±4.88, which increased 8.4 points than before. The results showed that the two groups had good effect on the disease.2. Improvement index:The improvement index of the treatment group was 12.58 ±5.62, and the control group was 8.83±4.34. (P=0.001, P<0.05) It is indicated that the effect of the treatment group is better than that of the control group after 15 times.3. Improvement rate:The improvement rate of the treatment group was (88.5 ±18.2)%, and the control group was (71.7±24.2)%, the effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group.4. The cure rate:treatment group:14 cases (50%) were cured,11 cases (39.3%) were marked I y effect ive,3 cases (10.7%) were effective,0 cases were ineffective. Control group:7 cases (23.3%) were cured,10 cases (33.3%) were markedly effective,13 cases (43.3%) were effective,0 cases were ineffective.5. Working time:The results showed that the work time was in the first four treatments,46.6%(27 cases) of patients with first times for the visible effect, 32.8%(19 cases) second times of treatment for the visible effect,13.8%(8 cases) after the third treatmentfor the visible effect. Individual patients (3.4%,2 cases) fourth times to see the efficacy of treatment.6. Obviously effective time:It focused on the first 5-6 treatment, for the distribution of the number of the cases:6 times (23 cases, accounted for 39.7% of the total number of cases); the 5th (17 cases, accounted for 28.3%of the total number of cases); the seven (7 cases, accounted for 12.1 percent of the total number of cases); the four (4 cases, accounting for 6.9% of the total number of cases) the 8th (2 cases, accounting for 3.4% of the total number of cases), in individual patients the 9th or 10th onset (1 cases, accounting for 1.7% of the total number of cases).Conclusion:1.The overall efficacy analysis showed that both the four step-two method Tuina combined with acupuncture therapy or simple acupuncture therapy have obvious effect to treat Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation. There is significant improvement in pain and functional activities of lumbar and legs.2. Judging from the JOA score, after the four step-two method Tuina combined with acupuncture therapy treatment, the effect is more quick, the clinical symptoms improve more obvious.3. The four step and two method Tuina combined with Acupuncture therapy for lumbar disc herniation has the exact effect.
