| High quality wheat cultivars with strong gluten in the Huaibai wheat-growing region in Jiangsu Province are not sufficient, whereas the adaptability and disease resistance of the cultivars is relatively bad. A new wheat cultivar Lianmai 2 was bred, which had above 600kg/667m2 yield potential and 500kg/667m2 actual yield ability, and exhibited high quality, well lodging and fertilization resistance and wide adaptability. The relevant cultivation technology for Lianmai 2 was also studied. The results were showed as below.Lianmai 2 was bred according to genealogy chooses with Jiang 94(73) as the male and Lumai 21 as female by Lianyungang institute of agricultural sciences in 2005. In 2004 and 2005, Lianmai 2 was involved in the national wheat variety regional tests in the southern irrigated area of Huanghuaihai. The average yield of Lianmai 2 increased by 2.82 % compared with CK Yumai 49. Of 13 test sites, the average yield of Lianmai 2 increased by 4.28 % at 12 sites. Grain quality was accord with national standard of the strong -gluten wheat based on official sampling.Lianmai No.2 was the medium and more spike type and middle early- maturing semi-winter wheat variety. Their mainly characters were high cold -resistance, wide applicability, high synthetic resistance, lodging resistance, high stalk flexibility, flag leaves uprush, getting up early in spring, white kernel,vitreous kernel,high bulk weight, higher effective spike rate, high tillering ability, good commercial characters. It was also resistant to wheat powder mildew and head scab at medium level. The seedlings are half-espalier and the stem length of the strain is about 80 cm, the number of kernels per spike is about 35. There are about 400 thousand productive ears per 667 m~2. The1000-kernel weight is about 40g.This strain is fitted to middle-northern region Henan Province , northern region Anhui Province , northern region in Jiangsu Province ,Guanzhong region in Sanxi Province and it is also adapted to be planted in the middle and high fertilizer water - land in good quality... |
