The yields of processing tomato in xin jiang autonomous region cover at least 80% of our nation's. There are about 20 processing tomatoes' strains which have been popularize now .Among them, Riegl ,one of imported strains, have been holding about 80% of xin jiang 's market, but its profuse plants take place every year.This problem has become a grave trouble for seeds-producing units, farmer and processing enterprise as it happens more and more. And it caused great drop in production and profits at some local place. There are few research or report about profuse plants of processing tomato at home and abroad. This research does some basic works: in one side ,we carry out investigation and study about occurrence of profuse plants under different environment and cultivable conditions. in another side, we try to establish information base about variation of substance by comparing with growing index and physiological and biochemical variation between normal plants and profuse plants. It will provide basis for further study. The major results are as follows:1.The occurrence of profuse plants is between 4% and 13% in northern planted area of Xin Jiang.Different area has different occurrence of profuse plants. It occurs much less in the area which the weather is cool, irrigation system is available, and the field is a virgin soil for planting tomatoes. On the contrary, it is very easy to occur and will have much more.Seeds of processing tomato which are collected in different regions. If it is sewed directly to the soil, profuse plants occurs the least when it is sewed at 20th April. And which part of plants the seed are collected has no influence to the occurrence of profuse plants. Moreover, it will increase the occurrence of profuse plants if temperature is high or low in period of seedling.2. It's better to use Riegl as father parents in crossing because its F1 generation don't occur profuse pants.3.After judging and analyzing step by step, it's cbvious to use the height of plants to distinguish the discrepancy of normal plants and profuse plants. It's a effective way to distinguish the profuse plants according to the height of plants and growing speed of lateral bud. And get rid of the plants which grows lateral bud when it has four foliage leaf。4. There are discrepancies in every physiological index between Riegl's normal plants and profuse plants. Some discrepancies totally conform to the grow of plants in the field. It needs a further study to verify because all of the experiment dates was just fome on year's growing test.
