Studies On Biological Characteristics And Cultivation Technique Of New Table Apricot Cultivars

Apricot (Prunus Armeniaca Lam.), had ever playing an important role in our fruit producing and once being listed as one of"five fruits"in ancient times, is an economically important member of fruit tree species that cultivated in the north of China(Lv Zengren, 2002). However, there are many problems in current apricot cultivation, such as small areas, low and unsteady yields, extensive managements, low intensive extention and bad ecomomic benefit and so on (Wang Shaomin, 2002), cultivars renewed slowly is an important reason of the situation.A lot of new apricot cultivars were bred in recent years in domestic, however, systematic and comparative studies are still made on these cultivars.The experiments were conducted in Heze technological demonstration orchard using 11 apricot cultivars, such as Gold Sun , Katy, Hongfeng, Xinshiji and so on. In order to explore effective prevention means and improvement measures, based on low fruit setting, frost damage at blooming stage and waterlogging disaster in summer and autumn in practice, biology characteristics of 11 cultivars were systemically investigated and studied, the main results are as follows:1.'Gold sun','Katy'and'big king'of Europe ecological group with lower sterile flower, higher fruit setting, earlier fruitting, high yield, big size, well shape and good quality can be used for main varieties in commercial production;'M ano','Tyrinthos'and'gold'can not be used for main varieties in commercial production because of little size, higher sourness and not too good quality;'dezhou'of North China ecological group with higher fruit setting and high yield can be used for main variety;'hongfen'and'xin shiji'with some good characters,such as early ripening,good quality and beautiful appearance,will have widely development prospect if farther advanced quality by some cultivable measures such as rightly pollinated by other varities, intensify summer pruning, heighten bud differentiation quality and fruit setting;'Tube Zaohong 1'and'Tube Zaohe 1'should be restricted to develope before the measures of advanced early bearing and yield were found despite with excellent characters of early ripening and good quality.2.
