The step of changing from traditional agriculture to modernagriculture is accelerated, along with agricultural application of allkinds of high technology and development of science and technology.Precision Agriculture (PA) is considered as an efficient mode of worldagriculture development, and is an efficient pattern of modernagriculture technology. Among the techniques, the automatic VariableRate Fertilization is inevitable trend of the development.The applying method of the automatic variable rate fertilization(VRF) mainly is based on the the GPS electronic maps. The flow oftechnology of map-based VRF can be done by applying GPS and GISintegration technology to obtain the farm electric map, make decisionby plotting grids, naming cells, testing soil to get nutrient in soil,and build the nutrient database. When practicing in farm, DGPS signalswere got by CPU which adjusts fertilization shaft rotate speed torealize VRF by identifying cell which the applicator locates at. Butthe exist problem is that the price of GPS is expensive, the prophaseinvestment is great. according to the current economic condition of ourfarmers in country village, the technology can't be applied to widly.Therefore, the caltulation positioning system based on the ARM andspeed sensor can replace the precise GPS to position. The low costautomatic variable rate fertilization is carried out, and its prophaseinvestment is reduced. And the system not only is realized accurately ,but also has practical value.The main research works of the thesis are:(1) Designing a method of the caltulation positioning based on the ARMand speed sensor, and replacing the precise GPS position system. Andthe automatic variable rate fertilization is carried out.(2) The needed equipments and hard wares of the caltulation PositioningSystem are selected by the examinations, such as: ARM7 Samarmdvk 4.0,speed sensor, and others assistant equipments.(3) The system can be controlled by C language programming includingthe saving,recovery and pause/beginning function.(4)The working status and mode are displayed on the LCD of the 320*240pixels. And the quantity of applying fertilizer is also displayed onthe LCD by the different colors.
